Quick Music/Dreamscape Meditation
Dreamscape #1
Here are a few suggestions on how to get the most from this video.
Sit up in a relaxed position with your back, neck and head fairly straight but not at all tense or rigid. That’ll allow your breath to flow more easily If you can listen with earbuds or headphones, the experience will be more powerful.
This video can be wonderful to use during a “wind down” period before sleep . . . in the middle of night to help you fall back to sleep . . . and it can also be nice to use for short breaks during the day as a kind of mini vacation from the stress and intensity of whatever you’re involved in.
As you watch the video, let your gaze rest gently in the center of the screen and, at the same time, “widen” your attention to take in the rest of the screen with your peripheral vision.
See if you can just allow the music to kind of wash over you as you watch.
Finally, you can play with feeling as though your breathing is harmonizing with the slow, hypnotic movement of the images. The more you feel connected, and almost merged with the movement of the images and the vibrations of the music, the more easily and quickly you’ll be able to shift into a state of mind and body that will make it easy to effortlessly drift off into a deeply restorative sleep.
NOTE: To get an especially powerful experience out of this, consider buying something like this phone holder:
Lamicall: Gooseneck Holder Series
Lie down while watching
Right click and choose “loop” so the video will keep playing
Watch the video for awhile, then close your eyes and feel the music flowing throughout your body, Alternate watching and listening.
Finish just by listening, until the clear outlines of your body melt into a field of sensory/energy extending infinitely beyond the outlines of your apparent “body.”
If you’re not sure what this means, feel free to ask in the comments!
